Sorry America This is You
Not every picture is a pretty one.
It has been an interesting few days since the public berating of Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office.
From the moment it happened and continuing through the weekend, social media has been abuzz with posts from around the world with support and contrition for both sides. No matter where you land on this topic, one thing is very clear. What happened on February 28, 2025, was remarkable, historic and deeply concerning.
Some have said it was a set-up. Some have said it was planned all along to attack Zelenskyy, the wartime President of Ukraine. Regardless of the motives, it happened and it put the USA under a very critical microscope.
For those in the States who were appalled by the way Zelenskyy was being treated, they did what they could to minimize the damage it was having, and likely will have in the USA for some time.
Those Americans who want to distance themselves from the bullying are trying to find the words to remind the world this is not who the USA is or what they stand for. They want to remind those who watched of the good things the USA has done for countries like Ukraine and others over their long history of foreign aid and support.
And this is the sad part.
